Benefits Of Drinking Hot Water

Drinking water daily is a sign of good hydration. While some people prefer it cold, many prefer drinking hot water daily to keep up their health. Hot water promotes relaxation, allows the body to hydrate naturally, aids digestion, and even helps in good digestion. While there isn’t a lot of hard scientific evidence that proves hot water has all these benefits, several hot water drinkers have benefited greatly. Drinking warm water in the mornings is a beneficial full-body remedy.

While drinking hot water, or any warm beverage, it is essential to get the temperature perfect. Scalding water can burn the throat and the food pipe, causing burns and or scalds throughout the digestive tract. Optimal hot water temperature is usually between 54 degrees and 71 degrees. Some people also prefer adding a dash of lemon juice to the water to aid in good bowel movement in the mornings.

Let us look at a few benefits of drinking hot water.

Digestion: Water helps smoothen out the digestive process and keeps the tract lubricated at all times. Most people prefer using a kettle for hard water to help remove any underlying impurities like calcium and mineral deposits. Hot boiled water helps eliminate wastes and harmful toxins from the body.

Some people believe that drinking hot water also helps activate the digestive system by dissolving oily and fatty foods. Since water is known as the universal solvent, hot water helps break down carbohydrates, fats, and proteins in the food we eat and aids in dissipating solid particles. While there is no substantial research to back this theory, drinking hot water to aid in digestion is usually tried and tested on an individual level as there is no harm in keeping the body well hydrated throughout the day.

Relieves Nasal Congestion: It is a well-known fact that hot water creates steam. Inhaling the moisture that arises out of a cup of hot water is known to melt sinuses and relieve nasal congestion. People who suffer from sinus-related headaches and migraines have felt immense relief after inhaling the steam vapours and consuming hot water.

Hot water also helps soothe itchy throats. People suffering from a mucous collection in the throat, neck, and torso, should drink hot water to alleviate the pain caused by soreness in the throat. Even drinking directly from a hot water dispenser throughout the day can help relieve runny noses, tiredness, sore throats, and uncontrollable bouts of coughing. Hot water helps soothe the respiratory tract better than water at room temperature.

Relieves Constipation: Many people complain about irregular bowel movement and constipation. One of the significant causes of constipation is dehydration. Hot water helps contract the intestines. Naturally contracting the intestines through an infusion of water is an excellent way to aid in pushing all solid waste out of the body. Most people prefer using hot water as a remedy to constipation than chemical-based laxatives, medicines, and doctors’ treatments.

Drinking hot water is also cost-effective since water is readily available at all homes, and does not cost anything to heat up. People without the benefits of electric kettles and hot water dispensers prefer using an induction hob kettle to save electricity.

Improves Circulation: It is a known fact that healthy blood flow helps keep you fit in the long term. Proper blood flow decreases the risk of cardiovascular issues and also helps control blood pressure problems. Hot water, like the one in a bath or shower, helps in the expansion of the arteries and veins and allows correct blood circulation throughout the body. This phenomenon is one of the main reasons why people feel rejuvenated and fresh after a hot shower or soaking in the bath.

Drinking hot water has similar benefits. Consuming hot water in small amounts throughout the day helps keep the body hydrated, aids in perfect blood circulation, and keeps you fresh all day long. Sipping warm or hot water just before you sleep can also aid in getting a restful sleep since it can help you relax.

Helps Reduce Toxins: Drinking hot water as a lifestyle change helps by slightly increasing the body temperature. The fastest way to remove toxins from the body is by sweating and excreting. Hot water helps activate the endocrine system of the body and aids in even sweating. While most people find sweating to be a nuisance and an irritation, it is an excellent way to keep the body free from toxins.

Drinking hot water also helps you urinate regularly throughout the day. It helps keep the joints supple, prevents gout, and fights inflammation.
